Dealing with Uncertainty

Today our life is full of uncertainty. We are uncertain about COVID-19 regulations, guidelines, and requirements. We are uncertain when a vaccine will be found. We are uncertain about - at the time of this log - the change situation - we are evidently in a change shortage. We are uncertain about the future of our nation as elections loom around the corner - which EVERY American citizen has a civic DUTY to vote. We are uncertain about the U.S. - China relationship. Many Americans are uncertain about getting a paycheck as our unemployment is tremendously high right now - they say matching unemployment during the Great Depression. Our lawmakers are uncertain how to help the struggling millions as they argue over Democratic and Republican ideologies with neither side seeming to be willing to compromise a little for the good of the people.

With all these uncertainties many people are dealing with fear and depression. Many people are looking for something, anything that will be certain, that will offer hope, that we can lean on for strength. Is there anything other than being certain of uncertainty, fear, and discouragement? The answer is a resounding "YES!!" We have certainty, we have hope, we don't have to live in fear!!! Where is this certainty? What is this certainty? Let me give you some good news that I would strongly encourage you to share with those that are searching for hope, certainty, and encouragement.

Certainty#1 - God is still God - Hebrews 13:8 - “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

Certainty #2 - When I am alone as a believer, I am not alone. - Hebrews 13:5c - "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Certainty #3 - God's Word is true - John 17:17b - “thy word is truth.”

These are only a few certainties that offer hope, help, and peace.

I could write forever if I were to try and expound on all the certainties found in the Bible:

Salvation through Jesus is certain

Peace through Jesus is certain

Strength, through Jesus, to face trials, troubles, temptations is certain

Heaven is certain through Jesus

Today, don't buy into all the hype of uncertainty. Turn to Jesus today, confess you are a sinner deserving Hell, ask Jesus to save your soul through his blood and ALL the certainties for the child of God that are found in His word will be yours, and that's a CERTAIN fact!!
