Scripture: Mark 10:32-34 - And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him, (33) Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: (34) And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Thought – Human nature is to stay away from places of sorrow, pain, suffering, or discomfort. Usually we do everything we can to stay in our safe, comfortable spots. That’s why we hear so many messages about getting outside of our comfort zone. This is what makes this passage so amazing! Jesus knew the pain, the suffering, the embarrassment, the shame, and the agony He would face at Jerusalem, yet He willingly went! He was willing to go right in the middle of all the suffering and agonizing death He would suffer. How could He willingly go to Jerusalem, knowing all that awaited Him? He saw past all the immediate earthly humiliation and saw the end result. Hebrews 12:2 tells us, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” As we go throughout this week let’s willingly go out into a world of pain, sorrow, mocking, frustration, hurt, and share the gospel, both with our words and lifestyles. Martyrs throughout time have willingly suffered for the cause of Christ. It is not what we have to endure here that matters, it is the end result! Stayed focused and faithful to our dear Savior Jesus Christ who led by example the ability to face the heartache of this world head on, for the love of others. On the other side of the suffering there is a supreme victory, “…and the third day he shall rise again.”

What we’re working on this week:
This month we are finalizing all the things we need for Three Days’ club.
We are beginning to plan for a churchwide picknick coming up in June.
We are getting closer to Corban’s graduation trip. We will be gone for about 10 days.
We will be talking to some people to help fill in places while we are gone.
We are making lists of people to visit and how we can be a blessing to people of the church and visitors who have stopped by.
We are working on meeting with more people in the church. The plan is to meet with every person, either personally or in smaller groups to get valuable feedback on what we are currently doing and what can be done in and through the church.
FEEL FREE SHARE THIS WITH OTHERS – THE MORE THE MERRIER
As always, your valuable feedback is greatly appreciated. May we have a God filled, God honoring week!
