Take off the Mask Part 1

We live in a society where everywhere we turn we are being told to put on masks because they save lives. This is a point of great debate. I never dreamed I would ever see the day where whether a mask/ face covering is put on or not would cause such a stir! Everywhere we go we see people wearing face coverings. All that is seen most of the time is just the eyes, ears, and forehead. The chin, mouth, and nose are all covered. We cannot see any facial expressions, only masks.

Whether or not you where a mask is, in my opinion, your choice. I will not look down at people who refuse to where masks, nor will I mock those who deeply feel that masks must be worn and wear them everywhere. I am not interested in this blog about the physical mask, but I am interested in the spiritual, emotional masks we have all worn for years. These masks make others look at us differently than we really are. We put on a smile, though deep inside we are feeling depressed, angry, or even discouraged. These are the masks that we all need to take off.

Some people will go to church hiding behind the mask of religion. While others say, "What a faithful Christian!" or "What a great man or woman of God!" These people are hiding behind the mask of religion. Many times these people may even fool themselves, being blinded by the truth of their need of a Savior. Many times these people attend church, give to the church, volunteer for ministries, and are heavily involved with church activities all while thinking that their religious works will get them into Heaven.

The mask of religion is a very dangerous mask that has sent many people to a devil's hell. We must take off the mask and see ourselves for we truly are, a heathen deserving hell because of our sin. We are in need of a Savior! I have GREAT news! Jesus came, God's only begotten Son and lived a sinless life, died on the cross for your sin so that you and I can place our faith in Him and His finished work at Calvary and we can ALL go to Heaven. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
