“We Make Many Choices Daily.”

Sometimes I get paralyzed when I’m making a big choice. I begin to feel anxiety, frustration at myself for not being able to make the choice, and worry that I may not make the right choice. After all these emotions, and more, I take a deep breath and say, “I’ll take the burger and onion rings, please.” My family teases me every time we go to a new restaurant. They say, “Give dad the menu first so he can have time to decide what he wants.” Sometimes I will ask the server what he or she likes best and order that. Needless to say my family gets a charge, and slightly embarrassed when we go into a new restaurant.
The fact is that we make choices. We make hundreds, maybe thousands of choices. We choose to wake up on time or sleep a little longer, we choose to have good hygiene, or skip some hygiene, because we woke up late and no one will notice anyway. We choose what clothes to wear. We chose if we really want to wear that outfit or the more comfortable one that we wore the other day, but haven’t washed, it’s not that dirty and it doesn’t smell bad. We choose, choose, choose, all day long.
We fret about the big choices and tell people to give those to the Lord, but we don’t worry about the small choices. To be clear, we shouldn’t worry at all, however we are known for all the little choices we make every day. Some are known to be stuck up while some are known to be friendly. Some are known to be nice dressers while some are known to be sloppy dressers. Some are known to be high maintenance while some are known to be stingy. Some are known to be super spiritual, while others are known to be carnal. These are only a few things that we may be known as. The fact is that every decision we make tells others a little about who we are. While we are making all the decisions we make today, choose to give God all your choices and ask Him for guidance, even in the smaller choices. It may surprise us where God will lead us. Take a chance today, and choose to “…present your body a living sacrifice…”
